How is it given?

Good to know
- The TMPS-fatality warning is the single most-cited detomidine interaction in equine practice: never follow α2 drowsiness with into a vein trimethoprim-sulfa.
- micrograms/kg discipline: 20–40 micrograms = 0.02–0.04 mg — the mg-confusion is a thousandfold overdose (Plumb bolds this in the source).
- Vs xylazine: longer, deeper, potent — pick by duration needed; both reversed by atipamezole.
This information sheet is educational and supplements — it does not replace — your veterinarian's individual instructions. Doses are set by your veterinarian based on your pet's weight, health, and other medications.
