Interaction signals require veterinary verificationHuman interaction data and reference-text mentions are not a clinically validated veterinary safety check. Missing results do not rule out an interaction.
Understand these interaction sources
This checker combines two different kinds of signal, neither a clinically validated veterinary interaction check. First, a structured human drug-interaction dataset (DDInter, a DrugBank 5 mechanism-text snapshot, and the ONC High Priority DDI List) — its severity grading is real and pre-assigned by that source, but it describes interactions studied in human patients; a shared active ingredient is a reasonable starting signal for an animal, not a species-verified one. Second, this app's own weaker proxy: one selected drug's name or class happening to appear in another's own ingested reference text, with severity only guessed from that excerpt's wording (for example “contraindicated” vs. “caution”), not an independent pharmacological assessment. Absence of a result from either source does not mean no interaction exists. Confirm against a primary source before dispensing.
